Walmart and Eli Lilly are among five new firms objecting to OKX and ICE tokenizing their shares, raising total objectors to 38 as a rival Canton-based venue prepares to launch, CoinDesk reported.

Walmart and Eli Lilly are among five additional companies that have formally objected to proposed tokenized stock trading plans by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), according to CoinDesk. As previously reported, firms including JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola, and Dell Technologies had already opted out of the initiative.

The latest pushback brings the total number of objecting companies to 38 out of the 62 originally targeted for the venue, CoinDesk reported. The proposed platform aims to support continuous trading through Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on the XLayer blockchain.

Meanwhile, a rival trading venue built on Canton is preparing for launch, according to CoinDesk. That platform plans to feature an issuer-sponsored stock using an innovation exemption from the SEC.
