SoFi Bank Integrates Mastercard Network for $25B Stablecoin Settlement Rails
CIE News ·
SoFi Bank has announced the operational expansion of its stablecoin clearing and settlement rails integrated across Mastercard's global payments network. The institutional infrastructure upgrade is designed to support up to $25 billion in transactional volume, marking an immediate transition toward digital asset settlement mechanisms for traditional consumer financial operations.
Under the expanded architecture, retail banking card transactions will clear directly via dollar-pegged stablecoin liquidity pools. This operational framework bypasses legacy multi-day batch processing systems, routing settlement activity through dedicated stablecoin liquidity reserves to complete account clearing cycles without the clearing friction historically associated with interbank settlement infrastructure.
Following the announcement, the upgraded settlement rails are operational across the shared network footprint. SoFi Bank and Mastercard are actively deploying the platform to absorb targeted payment flows, with operations currently scaling to accommodate the projected $25 billion capacity limit.
