DYORSWAP users lose $2M in fake GIWA bridge drain
CIE News ·
DYORSWAP mistakenly integrated a counterfeit GIWA bridge contract that drained 766.25 Ether from 1,335 addresses, prompting the exchange to start a partial reimbursement program.
Decentralized exchange DYORSWAP disclosed on September 28, 2026, that attackers siphoned 766.25 Ether (ETH), valued at roughly $2 million, after the platform mistakenly integrated a fake bridge impersonating the unreleased GIWA Layer-2 network. According to cryptonomist.ch, 1,335 user addresses deposited funds into the counterfeit infrastructure under Chain ID 9134 before the attackers routed the stolen assets into Tornado Cash. The genuine GIWA team clarified that its production mainnet is not running and circulating connection details were fake. As reported by biggo.com, DYORSWAP stated its own smart contracts were not breached, and the exchange has begun distributing over 200 ETH from treasury funds as part of a partial reimbursement plan while tracing the exploiters.
