The CFTC has granted Coinbase Derivatives Clearing Organization approval, allowing the exchange to list, broker, and clear fully collateralized contracts internally, according to The Block.
Coinbase has officially obtained Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), according to The Block. The regulatory clearance enables the company to operate a full-stack derivatives offering by listing, brokering, and clearing fully collateralized products in-house. With this license, Coinbase completes its internal derivatives infrastructure stack, allowing it to clear its own products directly.
