Robinhood unveils AI trading agents, perpetual futures, and weekend trading

CIE News ·

Robinhood announced new trading tools at its HOOD Summit, including AI trading agents, crypto perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage, and weekend trading for U.S. stocks.

Robinhood introduced a series of trading products aimed at active users at its HOOD Summit in Houston, Texas, according to CoinDesk. The company revealed crypto perpetual futures offering up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) via Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp. It also announced plans to enable weekend trading for select stocks and exchange-traded funds through the Bruce alternative trading system.

The brokerage unveiled Robinhood Agents, allowing clients to configure artificial intelligence models from OpenAI or Anthropic to manage dedicated accounts. Through an automation feature dubbed Loops, agents can monitor market activity and execute strategies across stocks, options, and crypto assets based on pre-set parameters. Robinhood indicated that trades will mandate user approval by default, and agents cannot utilize margin trading at launch.

Additionally, Robinhood is introducing binary earnings contracts via Cboe to facilitate positions on corporate performance metrics, while extending options trading hours and expanding intraday margin availability. Company executives told CoinDesk the additions are intended to provide continuous access and tools across multiple asset classes without steering clients to competing venues.
