Ledger is investigating reports of stolen funds from users of Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis. An analyst reported over $86 million in losses, but Ledger has not verified the figure.
Hardware wallet firm Ledger is investigating reports of stolen funds linked to devices bought via Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis, CoinDesk reported. On-chain investigator Specter claimed on X that over $86 million in crypto might have been taken from hundreds of wallets across Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tron (TRX). Ledger acknowledged user reports of missing funds but has not confirmed the reported dollar amount or identified the source of the issue.
As a safety measure, Ledger requested that CryptoBilis halt sales and shipments while the inquiry is active. The company recommended that clients who bought devices from CryptoBilis within the last 90 days refrain from configuring them, while those with active wallets should move funds to a new device with a freshly generated seed phrase. A potential supply-chain compromise remains unverified, and Ledger stated it will share findings as the inquiry continues.
