The Sui Foundation announced a $30 million investment in DATA Network, which will retire its standalone blockchain and migrate to Sui. DATA tokens will transition on a 1:1 basis.
On October 12, 2026, the Sui Foundation announced a $30 million investment into DATA Network, formerly known as Story. DATA will retire its standalone Layer 1 blockchain and migrate its protocol and Trace registry over to Sui, according to The Defiant. Token balances will transfer to Sui on a 1:1 basis under their existing vesting terms, while validator staking and smart contracts on the original chain will end. DATA founder SY Lee is joining the Sui Foundation as a strategic adviser.
