European retailer MediaMarktSaturn has pulled Ledger hardware wallets from its shelves following tampering reports, as Ledger confirms it is investigating claims that extend beyond the earlier CryptoBilis reseller exploit.
European retailer MediaMarktSaturn has removed Ledger hardware wallets from its stores and online platforms after customer reports of modified devices, Cointelegraph reported on October 13. The withdrawal follows an earlier exploit involving reseller CryptoBilis, which saw up to $94.5 million in crypto siphoned from affected wallets. Ledger confirmed an unauthorized hardware implant was found in at least one device, and the company stated it is now investigating the new tampering reports beyond the initial reseller incident.
