Protected high and low
The swing that holds the current structure: in an uptrend, the last swing low a close must not break; in a downtrend, the last swing high.
Why it matters
A close beyond it is where the structure on that timeframe turns — a change of character. Traders compare it with their stop: a stop closer than the protected extreme can be hit while the structure still holds.
