Glossary

Tick size

The smallest step a price can move on a given trading pair, set by the exchange — for BTC/USDT on Binance, one cent.

Why it matters

The spread can never be smaller than one tick. On a busy pair the spread often sits at exactly one tick: buyers and sellers are as close as the exchange allows.
