Practice: name the candle — BOS, ChoCH or sweep
The names are the first step of SMC: they only mean anything if you apply them the same way every time. Nine real moments, three of each kind.
- Apply the BOS, ChoCH and sweep rules to real charts
- Tell a close through a swing from a wick through it
Before you start: The lessons on BOS and ChoCH, and on liquidity and sweeps.
How it works
Each chart is real 4-hour BTC/USDT, with the last swing high or low dashed and one candle outlined. You are told the trend before it. Say what the outlined candle is:
- BOS — it closed through the swing, in the direction of the trend.
- ChoCH — it closed through the swing, against the trend.
- Sweep — its wick went through the swing, but it closed back inside.
Then the chart shows the candle's numbers and the next 12 candles.
What it trains
The score is for applying the names the same way every time — not for guessing what came next. As the lessons showed, none of the three told you which way price would go.
- A close through the swing is a break; a wick that comes back is a sweep.
- With the trend: BOS; against it: ChoCH.
- The name describes the candle, not the next move.
