ZachXBT identified French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the suspected victim in a crypto theft exceeding $133 million. Crypto.com has reportedly blocked funds tied to the incident.

On-chain sleuth ZachXBT has named French banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the suspected victim of a cryptocurrency theft surpassing $133 million, according to CoinDesk. As previously reported, unauthorized outflows from centralized exchange accounts initially drained $106 million before an additional $27 million was siphoned, bringing total losses to roughly $133 million.

The stolen assets, mostly in USD Coin (USDC) and Tether (USDT), were withdrawn from accounts at Kraken, OKX, and Crypto.com. Cryptoticker.io reported that Crypto.com has successfully blocked funds associated with the incident, while Kraken restricted linked accounts and is working alongside law enforcement.

According to Bitquery data and crypto.news, the perpetrator rapidly converted $62.98 million of the stablecoins into 27,553 Ethereum (ETH) via UniswapX before transferring assets through instant exchanges such as WellWallet, Kyrrex, and Wagyu to acquire Monero (XMR). ZachXBT stated that the suspected attacker appears to be French-speaking with links to cybercrime forums.
