Chainlink launched CCIP 2.0 on September 28, introducing a Cross-Chain Verifier feature that allows institutions to run custom security checks or employ third-party verifiers from firms like Infosys and Nethermind, Decrypt reported. The protocol maintains its base consensus model requiring agreement among 16 independent node operators, while its automated offchain Risk Management Network has been deactivated for current deployments. Chainlink stated that the protocol secures over $84 billion in cross-chain value, with $15 billion in tokenized assets migrating to its system over the prior four months.
