Zano rolls back blockchain following unauthorized quadrillion fUSD mint

The Zano blockchain executed a rollback after an exploiter minted over one quadrillion fUSD, creating unauthorized tokens that were indistinguishable from legitimate coins.

The Zano team executed a blockchain rollback after an exploiter minted more than one quadrillion unauthorized fUSD tokens on the network. According to Cointelegraph on October 2, 2026, the attacker reportedly generated 36.9 million unauthorized ZANO (ZANO) via a Gateway Address vulnerability prior to the network rolling back by a month. Because the unauthorized tokens were indistinguishable from legitimate coins, the team stated that a full blockchain rollback was required to remove the illicitly created assets and protect network integrity.
