The Zano blockchain was rolled back by one month after an attacker minted 36.9 million unauthorized ZANO tokens, which were indistinguishable from legitimate network coins.
The Zano blockchain was rolled back by one month after an exploiter generated 36.9 million unauthorized ZANO tokens, Cointelegraph reported on October 2, 2026. According to the project, the attacker leveraged a Gateway Address vulnerability to mint the assets, which were indistinguishable from genuine network supply. The development team determined that reverting the chain was required to invalidate the illicit tokens.
