NEAR Intents general manager Alex Shevchenko has identified the exploiter behind the $3.8 million breach, issuing a 48-hour ultimatum while phased bridge restorations continue.
As previously reported, NEAR Intents suffered a $3.8 million breach affecting USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) due to an access-control defect between Omni infrastructure and its smart contract. General manager Alex Shevchenko has now identified the perpetrator and issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding the return of the stolen funds. While the contract vulnerability has been patched and full compensation was pledged by co-founder Illia Polosukhin, the protocol is conducting a phased restoration of bridge endpoints across 11 restricted networks.
