Bitcoin (BTC) dropped to around $84,600 on October 3 after a rally stalled near $87,220, cryptotimes.io reported. The price reversal led to roughly $433.6 million in total crypto derivatives liquidations across 24 hours, with more than 100,000 traders affected. Traders holding leveraged long positions accounted for roughly 74% of the losses, totaling $321.77 million.
According to CoinGecko data cited by cryptotimes.io, BTC declined roughly 1.6% across 24 hours to trade at $84,635.62, leaving its market valuation at approximately $1.7 trillion. CoinGlass figures showed the largest single liquidation took place on Binance in an ETHUSDT position valued at $4.51 million.
Technical data cited by crypto.news showed BTC trading near its 61.8% Fibonacci retracement mark of $84,012 following the decline. Bitcoin remained slightly beneath its 20-period moving average on the four-hour chart at $84,227, with CoinGlass order books showing an additional liquidation band situated around $83,500.
