Open Standard stablecoin market cap increases by $626.3 million
CIE News ·
Open Standard’s stablecoin market cap grew by $626.3 million in a week, following the rollout of Open USD (OUSD) backed by a $1 billion liquidity commitment from partners including Stripe and Visa.
The circulating market capitalization of the Open Standard stablecoin framework increased by $626.3 million over the past week, coinfomania.com reported on October 4, 2026. This expansion follows the launch of Open USD (OUSD), which received more than $1 billion in launch liquidity commitments from a coalition including Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa.
According to unchainedcrypto.com, OUSD went live on September 30, 2026, across the Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo networks, with Coinbase integrations launching on October 1, 2026. The token is issued by Stripe-owned Bridge, which mints and redeems OUSD at a 1:1 ratio against the dollar with reserves deposited at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY Mellon.
Open Standard founder Zach Abrams stated that interest generated from reserves, minus management costs, is allocated to ecosystem partners based on activity rather than being retained on a central balance sheet. Trading for the token initially opened on Uniswap, Kraken, and Coinbase.
