UPDATE: Bitcoin slips below $82,800 as oil jumps and yields reach 2002 levels

CIE News ·

Bitcoin fell 1.6% to just under $82,800 during Thursday Asian morning hours, driven by climbing oil prices and 10-year Treasury yields at 5.31% following reports of potential U.S. strikes against Iran.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.6% to just under $82,800 on Thursday morning in Asia, continuing its decline after previously tumbling below the $83,000 mark. The move comes as Brent crude climbed above $102 a barrel following reports that the White House sought strike options against Iran, which pushed the 10-year Treasury yield up to 5.31%, levels not seen since 2002. FxPro stated that the break beneath $83,000 confirms sellers have taken control and could push BTC to $80,000 fairly quickly, while CoinGlass data showed approximately $550 million in leveraged crypto bets were liquidated over the preceding day.
