Sui Foundation is investing $30 million in DATA Network as the protocol migrates to Sui, retiring its independent blockchain and moving DATA tokens at a 1:1 ratio.
The Sui Foundation announced a $30 million direct investment in DATA Network on October 12, 2026, as the protocol and its Trace registry migrate to the Sui blockchain, according to crypto.news. DATA Network plans to retire its standalone blockchain once the integration finishes, with existing DATA tokens transferring on a one-for-one basis while keeping their vesting terms and governance rights. Cryptotimes.io reported that storage network Walrus will serve as the default storage layer for DATA Foundation applications, while the current network remains active until migration instructions are published.
