Bitcoin climbed back above $83,000 on October 13, 2026, recovering from an early drop under $81,000 even as South Korean equities and US tech futures fell.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose back above $83,000 on October 13, 2026, recovering after dropping to just under $81,000 at 00:50 UTC, according to CoinDesk data. Other digital assets, including Ether (ETH), XRP, Zcash (ZEC), and Solana (SOL), also rebounded from earlier low marks.

The initial dip coincided with a drop of more than 6% in South Korea's KOSPI index, led by declines in semiconductor manufacturers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. US Nasdaq futures dropped 0.6%, while the Dollar Index reached near 102.50.

Market participants are monitoring the upcoming US consumer price index report scheduled for Thursday. Paul Howard, senior director at market-making firm Wincent, stated that institutional investors are expected to add derivative protection and hedging strategies ahead of the inflation figures rather than significantly reduce underlying holdings.
