Lido announced that users can stake native ETH directly from Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism using Chainlink CCIP, according to CoinMarketCap.
Lido rolled out an infrastructure update on October 15, 2026, enabling users to stake Ether (ETH) directly from four Layer 2 networks without first bridging to the Ethereum mainnet, CoinMarketCap reported. The cross-chain staking process relies on Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to transfer native ETH to mainnet staking contracts and deliver wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) back to Layer 2 addresses. The mechanism is reportedly live across Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism on Lido's primary interface.
Key facts
