Aave founder Stani Kulechov presented Aavenomics 3.0 to reactivate token buybacks and dynamic burns. The plan follows risk mitigation steps after an earlier flash loan exploit.
Aave founder Stani Kulechov presented governance specifications for the Aavenomics 3.0 framework. The proposal introduces a roadmap to reactivate Aave (AAVE) token buybacks, adjust staking yields, and establish dynamic token burn mechanics tied to protocol revenue collection.
Buyback mechanics had been halted following a flash loan incident involving Balancer and Aave liquidity pools. In response to the event, the DAO committed 25,000 ETH for risk mitigation and secured a 30,000 ETH credit line from Mantle. Onesafe.io reported that an attacker previously routed more than $1 billion through Aave lending pools in a single transaction block on September 6, 2026, while extracting roughly $250,000 from Balancer V1.
Aavenomics 3.0 also plans to increase staking rewards within the protocol safety module. The proposal is undergoing community review prior to an on-chain vote.
