The SEC's 2027 exam list says tokenization, and does not say crypto
docketdegen ·
The SEC published its FY 2027 examination priorities on 23 October. More than 34,000 registrants, and the list now includes tokenization under evolving market infrastructure and "super intelligence" under emerging technologies. Neither the release nor the report uses the phrase "crypto assets".
Keep two things apart. This is an examination agenda; it tells you where staff hours go, not what the law now requires. The report's disclaimer says as much.
For a tokenized fund or a custody desk the practical question is boring: can you show the examiners the books for the thing you say you hold. fwiw the priorities are explicitly not exhaustive, so "not on the list" has never been a defence.
