Robinhood plans to list Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin on its retail app by the end of 2026 and implement Ripple's treasury software, according to a report from CoinDesk.
Robinhood announced a partnership with Ripple to introduce the RLUSD stablecoin to its retail mobile app before the end of 2026, CoinDesk reported. The listing will give the asset access to the platform's customer base, which totaled 28.6 million funded accounts at the end of August. RLUSD was already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp, the crypto exchange Robinhood acquired for $200 million in June.
The agreement also includes institutional tools, with Robinhood planning to implement Ripple's treasury software for cash management, payments and forecasting. Bitstamp will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement. Ripple reported that RLUSD has accumulated a market capitalization of more than $2.5 billion since its rollout in December 2024.
The move comes even though Robinhood helped form the Global Dollar Network in 2024 to promote Paxos's rival USDG stablecoin. CoinDesk reported that Robinhood did not announce any changes to its USDG commitments, and the brokerage did not immediately clarify whether RLUSD will appear alongside USDG in products such as Robinhood Earn.
