TraderTraitor moved 970,522 SOL taken in the Binance exploit through THORChain, prompting U.S. law enforcement advisories and a 10% gain in RUNE.

North Korea-linked hacking group TraderTraitor has routed assets stolen during the October 29 Binance hot-wallet exploit through THORChain. Blockchain monitors tracked 970,522 Solana (SOL), worth $16.9 million and representing 81% of the stolen SOL, being swapped into Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The laundering activity prompted joint advisories from the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, and IRS Criminal Investigation. The agencies urged decentralized finance protocols and node operators to blacklist wallet addresses tied to the exploit.

Increased cross-chain transaction activity on the network coincided with a 10% price rally in THORChain's native RUNE token.
