Cryptocurrency security breaches surpassed $768 million in losses during September 2026, making it the most severe month for hacks this year, according to Cointelegraph. The elevated total was primarily driven by a $388 million breach at the Bitget exchange alongside a $320 million exploit on Liquid Network. More than $270 million of the funds stolen from Liquid Network was subsequently returned.
