Tether reported freezing roughly $550 million in USD₮ tied to Iranian sanctions networks in 2026, working with US authorities to target addresses linked to Iran's Central Bank.

Tether reported freezing roughly $550 million in USD₮ across blacklisted wallets throughout 2026 in collaboration with US sanctions enforcement against Iranian networks. The actions included freezing more than $344 million across two TRON addresses in April following referrals from the Office of Foreign Assets Control, as well as over $130 million across four TRON wallets in July. Tether noted lifetime asset freezes surpassing $4.9 billion, with more than $2.4 billion coordinated directly alongside US law enforcement agencies.
