Strategy disclosed a $20.91 billion digital asset gain for Q3 2026, lifting its Bitcoin holdings to a record 848,000 BTC alongside $5.7 billion in dollar assets.
Strategy reported a third-quarter gain on digital assets of $20.91 billion for Q3 2026, according to a corporate filing reported by Decrypt. As previously reported, the company has continued expanding its Bitcoin treasury, which has now reached a record 848,000 BTC as of October 4, 2026. The fair-value accounting gain carried an associated deferred tax expense of $1.88 billion.
Decrypt reported that the company purchased 334 BTC between October 1 and October 4 for $28.7 million, averaging $85,838.80 per coin. The acquisition was funded by $15.7 million in net proceeds from selling 92,894 MSTR shares alongside $13 million drawn from USD Cash balances. The latest additions brought Strategy's aggregate purchase cost across its entire position to an average of $75,440.70 per coin.
Strategy also reported holding $5.7 billion in total USD assets as of October 4, 2026. This balance is split between a USD Reserve of $4.88 billion allocated for preferred dividends and debt interest, and $833.4 million in USD Cash for general operational use. During the same period, Strategy spent $176.3 million repurchasing 1,773,802 Stretch preferred shares.
