UPDATE: OKXICE files SEC notice for 24/7 tokenized stocks on XLayer

CIE News ·

OKXICE notified the SEC on October 4 of its plan to offer round-the-clock tokenized trading for over 60 stocks, using permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on XLayer paired with stablecoins.

OKXICE, the joint venture formed by crypto exchange OKX and NYSE owner Intercontinental Exchange, notified the SEC on October 4 that it plans to launch a 24/7 tokenized securities venue. As previously reported, OKX and ICE had sought to offer tokenized shares in more than 60 US-listed companies under the SEC's Innovation Exemption, which took effect on September 17. Joint venture co-chair Andrew Cuomo announced the filing on October 5, Decrypt reported.

According to Decrypt, the filing lists equities including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, and SpaceX, alongside crypto-related firms like Coinbase, Circle, and Robinhood. The tokens will trade against USDC, USDG, and USDT stablecoins in permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on the XLayer layer-2 blockchain. Access requires a non-transferable soulbound token issued after identity and sanctions checks by OKX's US entity.

The underlying shares will be held one-for-one through an unnamed third-party tokenizer's registered broker-dealer, according to the filing. Decrypt reported that chipmaker Cerebras Systems lodged a formal objection and was excluded from the listing.
