Coinbase Financial Markets agreed with Michigan regulators to stop offering new sports prediction market contracts and settle open positions by October 10, 2026, while enforcement is paused.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced an agreement on October 7, 2026, requiring Coinbase Financial Markets, Inc. to stop offering new sports-related prediction market contracts to Michigan residents by 12:00 a.m. ET on October 10, 2026, according to michigan.gov. Under the deal, Coinbase agreed to wind down and settle all open customer sports contracts by the same deadline, mirroring previous agreements the regulator reached with Robinhood Derivatives and KalshiEX. In return, the regulator will pause state-level enforcement actions while related appeals proceed before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
