Digital asset desks are positioning conservatively ahead of the September US CPI release on October 14, 2026, with forecasts predicting headline inflation will rise to 3.6%–3.7%.
Digital asset desks are taking conservative positions on October 10, 2026, prior to the release of the U.S. Consumer Price Index report on October 14, 2026. The September inflation figures are set for publication at 8:30 ET by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Trading desks view the upcoming print as a deciding factor for Federal Reserve rate policy at the October 27-28 Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
Forecasts cited by admiralmarkets.com project annual headline inflation to increase to between 3.6% and 3.7%, driven largely by record petrol prices during September. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, is projected to remain near 2.4% year on year.
According to tradingeconomics.com, headline inflation held unchanged at 3.40% in August 2026. Data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed August core CPI at 2.4%, which marked its lowest annual level since March 2021.
