Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform, merging its network with BVNK's crypto infrastructure to let enterprises manage and spend fiat and stablecoins through a single API.
Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform on October 15, 2026, combining its payment network with infrastructure from BVNK, Decrypt reported. The rollout represents the first major integration since Mastercard purchased BVNK for approximately $1.8 billion in August. The platform centers on a global money account that allows businesses, banks, and fintechs to store, convert, and transfer traditional currencies and stablecoins through a single API.
According to Decrypt, the system connects directly with Mastercard Move to facilitate local-currency transfers from stablecoin balances into bank accounts across more than 200 countries, targeting over 40 currencies by 2027. Early enterprise adopters of the infrastructure include Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem, and Almond FinTech. Mastercard said the platform will later add support for tokenized deposits and automated payments by AI agents.
