Crypto derivatives liquidations reach $569.99 million amid market pullback

CIE News ·

Centralized crypto exchanges saw $569.99 million in derivatives liquidations over a 24-hour period into October 4, 2026, after weaker U.S. jobs data triggered pullbacks across Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Derivatives liquidations across major centralized crypto exchanges reached roughly $569.99 million during the 24-hour period leading into October 4, 2026. Long positions accounted for $329.62 million of the wiped positions, while short positions made up $240.37 million.

The liquidations accompanied a broader market drop following the release of the U.S. September jobs report, which showed nonfarm payrolls grew by 29,000 against a forecast of 89,000. Bitcoin (BTC) subsequently fell from Friday highs of $86,794 to trade near $84,800. Ethereum (ETH) stabilized between $2,690 and $2,701, recording $6.98 million in liquidations.

According to CoinMarketCap, spot ether exchange-traded funds registered approximately $117.8 million in net outflows across three consecutive trading sessions, while leveraged positioning accelerated price declines across major tokens.
