Hyperliquid Strategies reported buying 1.9 million HYPE tokens for $167.2 million on October 4, 2026. The purchase pushed total treasury holdings to roughly 37 million HYPE as the asset gained 3.55% over 38 hours.
Hyperliquid Strategies completed a spot market purchase of 1.9 million Hyperliquid (HYPE) tokens for $167.2 million on October 4, 2026. The acquisition lifted the Nasdaq-listed treasury vehicle's total holdings to approximately 37 million HYPE, valued at roughly $3.26 billion.
Following the buyback, the HYPE price advanced 3.55% across a 38-hour period to reach $88.50, bringing its circulating market capitalization to around $22.7 billion. CoinMarketCap reported that HYPE gained about 3.01% in 24 hours with spot trading volume near $461.56 million, leaving the token about 7.65% below its all-time high of $97.98.
The accumulation occurred after late September supply pressures, including the unstaking of 3.75 million HYPE for team compensation and the unstaking of 983,600 HYPE across five whale addresses. Hyperliquid routes about 90% of USDC reserve yield and other protocol fees into buyback and burn mechanisms.
