Derivatives exchanges recorded $412.62 million in liquidations within a single hour between 01:45 and 02:10 UTC on Oct. 7, 2026, following a sharp crypto market downturn. As previously reported, Bitcoin (BTC) dropped below the $84,000 threshold, slipping from $85,341 to $83,577 in a 2.1% decline. Long positions accounted for more than 97% of the single-hour wipeout, totaling $403.58 million, according to data from CoinGlass.
The decline simultaneously pushed Ethereum (ETH) down from $2,688 to $2,591. Over a 24-hour window, total liquidations reached approximately $553 million across 104,388 traders, as Bitcoin.com News reported that overall long liquidations stood at $479 million. Liquidations on Binance reached $228.52 million across four hours surrounding the move, which included the largest single liquidation order of $26.64 million on the ETH/USDC trading pair.
